Emergency contacts are people who speak for you in an emergency or can be additionally informed. Medical ID has exactly three fixed places for this. Whether notifications are sent also depends on your settings and the fully stored contact details.
Create contact
- Open the Emergency contacts section.
- Select one of the Representative, Additional representative, or Also inform tabs.
- Enter the mandatory information. This includes name, address, country, mobile number, email address and at least one language.
- Select Save and then Send invitation. Before sending, Medical ID will show an email preview.
Confirmation by the contact (important)
For data protection reasons, your contact will be informed by e-mail and must actively confirm their data and the intended function: - The person receives an e-mail with information about which of the three roles they have been stored for. - She checks her data and actively confirms. - It has 14 days to confirm. If the time runs out, you can use the Resend invitation.
Once confirmed, the seat will be displayed as Confirmed; until then, it will say Confirmation pending.

If a contact hasn't confirmed yet, you can resend the invitation – the contact will have 14 days again.
What are the three Emergency contacts?
The three places are fixed and cannot be freely named or expanded: - Representative in health matters – first point of contact with the representative role described in the form. - Additional representative in health matters – second contact person with a representative role. - Also inform – additional person to be informed.
Whether contacts are notified during a scan depends on the plan, settings, and existing contact information.
Privacy notice for contact
Confirmed the invitee has their data and role, the seat will be displayed as Confirmed. Without confirmation, Confirmation pending will remain visible. If a contact takes responsibility after a later request, their data will be stored for another 12 months; unconfirmed or expired invitations will be cleaned up after the specified deadlines.
