After designing your emails, Smart Emails generates the primary-language HTML for all eligible templates. Shopify requires the primary notification body to be installed manually, so each template must be copied and saved once in the corresponding Shopify notification.

Step by step

  1. Finish editing the primary-language design and click Export to Shopify.
  2. Open Exports and select a template, such as Order Confirmation.
  3. Click Copy code.
  4. Open the Shopify destination shown by Smart Emails.
  5. Replace the existing notification body with the copied HTML.
  6. Save the notification in Shopify.
  7. Return to Smart Emails and repeat this for every template you want to install.

The paid plan unlocks all 52 supported templates. The free plan provides five templates for testing the complete workflow.

After the export

Once a primary template is installed, locale-specific Metafields and supported live settings can update without replacing that code. Adding or removing sections, changing their order, switching the base preset, or receiving a structural converter update requires a fresh primary export.

Only export the primary language manually. When you add another language, Smart Emails enables that Shopify locale and automatically installs the translated email body for each primary template that is already installed.
